A group at the Computer Vision Laboratory at Columbia University have designed and built a prototype digital camera that should demystify the devices. The BigShot digital camera kit, when it hits the market, will be a box of all the necessary parts for kids to be able to build their own simple, candy-colored digital camera.

I'm loving this idea. I used to take shit apart when I was a kid and could easily put them back together. I often had no clue what a component was but could deduce what it did. A great way to learn, tho to the dismay of my parents. Note: not every tear down was a successful one.

Seriously, my two favorite male models shot by one amazeballs photographer. I would die, like go buh-nanas (sorry, bad Rachel Zoe impression) if either of them photograph in my clothes. It has nothing to do with their hotness.

AJ reminds me of a Care Bear. Something about his eyes. They draw you in. No doubt why photographers seem to really hone in on his amazing eyes.

Kerry is the total opposite. Photographers intentionally play up how fucking sexy he is. I like him because he reminds me of that guy in high school - you know the one. Super hot, popular but not arrogant and defends the gay kids. Just an all around nice guy and somehow those qualities radiate from his photos. More photos of each after the jump!

YES this is too perfect. Stefano Gabbana of Dolce & Gabbana tweeted these behind the scenes moments from their recent ad campaign shoot. I need more! Don't forget to hit the jump!

Reed and Rader

I stumbled upon this duo called Reed and Rader while writing over at Black Bunneh. Their photos are fun, dynamic and artistic without being contrived. There's a big emphasis on fashion and style so naturally I was drawn in. Hopefully one day I will have the opportunity to work with them on my project Panda Makings Making Pandas.

Nothing against model Lars Burmeister but these dogs are so handsome. Such beautiful creatures. For some reason whenever I see photographed dogs, my mind instantly goes to a place of anger towards those who hurt them. How can anyone hurt such enigmatic creatures?

Back to the scenery at hand. Lars could look sexy wearing a potato sack so I'm not surprised but in the hands of photographer Jimmy Backius, it all comes together - the environment, the model, the dogs and the clothes. In my naivety I will continue to picture Alaska this way, not Levi Johnston.

Biotch Stole My Look

But I don't mind. I can concede defeat because model Travis Hanson does it just as fierce - that and his body is flawless. Nice spread too. Check out Fashionisto for more.

this spread in Hommestar entitled Fashion X Jock. It's basically my fantasy come true. If only real jocks were this bold, fun and humorous.

I'm all over this story called Second Skin by photographer Willem Jaspert. I love the variation of skin tight fitted clothes, everything from nylon, spandex and even a knitted piece. Who is that model?!

Amazing shots of modeling golden boy (one of them) Tyler Kenyon by JD Ferguson. More after the jump.

China's FHM

The rapidly developing nation is now setting itself further apart from it's European counterparts in Fashion. High fashion there emphasizes the length, angularity, and almost pre-adolescent bodies of Asian women. Somehow, I think there's a social commentary in their pictures too.

Kva Ad 01

Designer Kris Van Assche and photographer Jeff Burton collaborated on a series of 12 layouts which will run in 12 select, international magazines as a unique advertising campaign for Van Assche's FW 08.09 men's collection.

Photographed in Los Angeles in March 2008 in a Laundromat, the series started as an artistic collaboration for A Magazine.

A Magazine is a bi-annual Antwerp-based magazine. Each issue is edited by a guest curator who freely develops the content of the issue. Van Assche is the curator of issue No 7 (on newsstands in May 08). Previous curators include Yohji Yamamoto, Martin Margiela, Martine Sitbon, Haider Ackermann.

The location for the shoot, a Laundromat, was chosen based on the set design of Van Assche's FW 08.09 runway show, for which vintage washing machines were placed alongside the catwalk.

Typical for Burton's work, the casting consists of real people and porn actors. His photographs capture the idea of seduction and sensuality, without any crudeness. Kris Van Assche, a longtime admirer of Burton, especially appreciates the poetry Jeff Burton pulls from the world of pornography : a place where it is hard to find.

Beginning with September issues, 12 layouts will run in 12 select international magazines. Each layout will thus be exclusive to the magazine. The full series can be seen on Kris Van Assche's site.
