Stuffing a Wii-mote down a stuffed doll to interact with a game? HELL YEAH! I want this game now. Call it, me kiddie I don't care. I still play with my stuffed dolls (shuddup) so this is second nature to me. I have a vivid imagination mmkay?

No idea when Wiiwaa out but rest assured I will be one of 3 grown ups in line on launch day.

Bave Circus

I'm not gonna give much away because you HAVE to watch this amazing short called Bave Circus. On a rainy afternoon, a child plays with his snails and falls along with them into a dreamy circus.

Wish I were a kid again.

I got my tickets to see Röyksopp on the 18th at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, did you? They're only playing four shows in the States so it pays to see them if you can. If you can't, well then I feel for you but enjoy their latest video The Girl And The Robot feat. Robyn.

Damn the Scandinavians make such good dance music.

You know how you kinda ignore a music act because something about them just doesn't spark your plug, but then you see them cover a group you actually like and suddenly you're all over them like white on rice, butter on bread, waffles and chicken? Yea that's how I feel about The Noisettes' cover of When You Were Young by The Killers.

I'm totally jealous of Robert Llewellyn (is that Elvish or something?) of the famed Llewtube. He got his hands on a Mitsubishi iMiev to kart around the city and tests drives the car exactly how I would. Motor enthusiasts may scoff at the lax terminology but it's the little things that impress me. Mr. Llewellyn feels the same way; from the soft Jetson like whine of the electric motor to the near silent operation.

There's a lot of hoopla over the Chevy Volt but if the iMiev can undercut the Volt's 30k price tag, I'm soooo there.

Funktionide

I still have a hard time pronouncing it but who cares! I'm loving the weirdness of this idea. Based on EAP-technology "Funktionide" is a concept for an emotional robot that substitutes human contact. In a future where technology will play a huge part in our lifes it is very likely that some day it will shift from satisfiying our basic funtional needs to include our emotional needs as well. How will this future be? How do we want it to be? Will it affect our human interactions if we start to fall in love with machines? Will the machines fall in love with us?

"MOEA" - that's my new word for 'MASSIVELY OVERLY EXCITED ABOUT'. Please feel free to use it. I Wish I could have gone to the Tokyo Game Show this year but alas, I had other priorities. The latest trailer by developers Level-5 show an incredibly immersive story thanks to Studio Ghibli's (Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Sprited Away, Howl's Moving Castle) artistic prowess.

2010 seems a ways off but I know 2009 is coming to a close so the wait isn't that bad. This game has EPIC written all over it. News on the street is the game follows classic RPG rules which is fine by me. I want the narrative, not the hyped-up sudo-RPG tactics.

It still boggles my mind the game is for the Nintendo DS. Years ago the platform was called a fun time waster but there are so many epic games on it now, it's easy to say those naysayers were WRONG.

I'm giddy with what Sony could do once they launch the motion control capabilities of the PS3. Imagine better than Wii interactivity with PS3 horsepower. The mind boggles. The above video shoes one of their tech devs explaining and demoing the soon to be real technology. Anton Mikhailov is his name and I can't wait to see more... of him... nude. Okay let me stop. My mind, geez what a tangent. I'm just super attracted to smart people, that's all.

GIMME ME MY PS3 MOTION CONTROLLER ANTON! More at the Playstation blog.

Thirsty Cat

Humans take their prehensile hands for granted. Imagine all the things you couldn't do without them and think about how our closest animals friends manage to get by. This cat doesn't let that stop him. All he wants is a cold drink and finds a simple yet effective way of getting it.

It's also worth mentioning this is another Japanese cat. Why are all the cool pets with funny behaviors from Japan?

Sometimes I think the art of music videos are dead. Long gone are the esoteric non-sense of the early 80's (black horse running thru fog with ribbons of colored smoke exploding behind). Long gone are the epic visual novellas of the late 80's. Gone is the pure fun with digital fx of 90's (Björk's robotic self love). We get mostly crap now as most money is made thru touring so it's nice to see some of my favorite up-and-comers create interesting visuals.

The first of which is my baby daddy Fedde Le Grand's Let Me Be Real. After the jump is a collab between Basement Jaxx and Sam Sparro called Feelings Gone. Lastly is my girl Annie doing it real 80's with the effervescent Songs Remind Me Of You.

I don't care what anybody says. I love them even without Kevin. Secretly I'm holding out for a full reunion with all 5 members, at least for a live performance. I know Kevin's busy writing, producing, and composing music for an animated feature but DAMN I miss seeing him.

Still the other 4 aren't shabby and their latest EP Straight Through My Heart is strumming that old school BBS sound. Oh and Nick Carter? Yea I need him in my life. I know he's working on that sobriety thing but anything that bottle can do, I can do better.

BTW here's the actual music video. I didn't bother showing it because it's some vampire bullshit.

GoodMorning! is a project by Jer Thorp, a Twitter visualization tool that shows about 11,000 'good morning' tweets over a 24 hour period. Built using processing, using the 'gathering' client running for 24 hours collecting 1,500 tweets at a time, the app displays all the tweets using good morning terms and their appropriate locations on the rotating globe.

HP issued a challenge, Matt Robinson and Tom Wrigglesworth answered with this amazing musical short featuring some old ass inkjet (HP brand of course) printers and some snazzy stop motion fx. I feel like channeling Peter Gabriel every time I watch it. I also feel like giggling when I say Tom's surname aloud. Tee hee. Good job guys. You're brilliant in the mind and obviously creative.

Music by Round Table Knights

There's all this buzz about Kanye's buddy Mr. Hudson and the new single proves why. Supernova is HOT and I'm sure scientists would agree. Mr. Hudson is fiyah and my crotch agrees. He kinda sounds like Shiny Toy Guns except he's WAY WAY hotter, and that accent? Mmm, makes me wanna drop to my knees and catch a supernova myself. Oh and is he wearing McQueen or is that Prada? Either way the boy rocks it well. My only issue with this song is TOO MUCH KANYE (ducks from using Kanye's patented caps lock key) and not enough Hudson. Hell, Kanye "sings" the entire second verse and chorus.

Mr. Hudson's forthcoming album "Straight No Chaser" hits my hard drive Oct. 5th. BTW Mr. Hudson, I'm a menswear designer and I would love to outfit you. It would be a tastic collab. Whaddya say?

Critter Crunch (Capybara Games) makes its way to the PSN store this summer so until then this hot hot hot trailer will make to do. I'm a sucker for easy pick-up-and-play games, especially when they're designed around anthropomorphic creatures that vomit rainbows. YES!

Well this is one way to attract tourists, or not. I'd definitely go. Aside from the killer robots, I hear Hakodate is actually quite nice, in a New England sort of way.

Oh Honda, you spend a shit load of money and hours all for the most entertaining minute long commercials. Thank you for making me smile.

Honda sets out to turn a field in the desert into the worlds largest LED screen with the use of lots and lots of cars (Hondas, of course). In the spot, each of the cars' headlights act as pixels to perform an animated sequence. Brills!

Oh and look out for the Prius Insight at the end!

Humble Telescope

humbletelescope.jpg

Designed and developed by a Melbourne based team ENESS. The Humble Telescope is an interactive civic sculpture that brings the wonders of space down to earth and encourages us learn more about the universe in a whole new way.

Inside the telescope exists a 3D simulation of our entire known universe. Pointing the telescope in any direction immediately shows us what exists in that area of space, so now we can get a greater understanding of where the planets are and where we live in the Milky Way.

2019 via Microsoft

If Microsoft ruled the world (literally), this is what life would be like by 2019. I want to live in it now. Sorry Apple, I love you but this just looks too damn amazing. Too bad real Microsoft products are no where near cool, useful, or stable.
