I Gots No Interweb
The promise of high speed fiber optic cable lured me. Now that it's installed, I can barely stay connected. Posts will resume when I'm once again am part of the great interweb.

Garbage Island
Disease, miscarriage, toxicity - if you care at all about those things then you need to care about what's happening to the environment. They're all directly related to each other. In the middle of the pacific ocean just north of Hawaii is a large vortex as currents from Asia and North America meet. Tons of floating trash migrates to this vortex, most of which is plastic designed to last forever. Watch this amazing 12 part VBS TV series about the so called Garbage Island.

Honey I'm Home!
So here's a tidbit about me. I absolutely love honey. I've been known to down honey packets and mini jars. Yes it sounds sickening but I just can't get enough. I use it in place of sugar and prefer it as an ice cream topping over chocolate or caramel.
About a month ago I decided I wanted to own a beehive so after some research I found a place out in Oxnard, California that lets anyone sponsor one. The farmers get the money they need to maintain and consumers get to visit the hive and take home fresh honey.
Some things I learned. . .
- Fresh honey (right off the comb) is sooo much better than anything packaged. TRUST ME.
- Bees are hot! Literally! You can feel heat emanating from their combs.
- They work so hard. It takes 400 trips for the colony to produce 1 tablespoon of honey.
- Some bees die defending as you harvest. I try to be really careful. I understand karma dammit.
- Chunks of honey filled combs make AWESOME gifts.
