Rogues Gallery
Fusing woodcut fonts and graphics with a heavy dose of old maritime iconography is the MO of Rogues Gallery.
The creation of Alex Carleton with what started as an "after-work" love affair making hand screened printed tees for men has now expanded into a full line with shirts, pants, jackets, and accessories for both men and women.
With every piece, you're instantly transported to a world long lost to modern times. Images of great sailing ships, whale hunting adventures, and naval battles all come to mind. There's a slight military touch in the tailoring but the style is clearly old, in a vintage way. Carleton is a collector of old things and likes to reuse them in his designs. That makes every item very limited and hard to come by, and that's what makes it unique. A lot of research, thought and careful construction goes into it and the fact that there are only so many old sails available to make bags from - that rarity makes it all the more special.
I love the clothes as they exude a sense of history, culture and class while remaining hip and true. Comfort is a key ingredient in Rogues Gallery since the designer himself has a love affair with the North East of America and the people there are all about comfort.

96Hour Sneakers
English Neil Barret's Urban/Sport inspired Collection 96Hours with German Puma has some nice looking sneakers this Spring. Above is the model "Striscia" inspired by early 90's footwear, a time when sneakers could still be just plain sneakers. They also remind me of early skate board shoes such as; Vision Street Wear and Air Walk that often had the laces covered up the same way.
Another cool model is "Slancio" which basically is a pair of leather flip-flops but they can be worn 3 ways; alone as slippers/sneakers, regular lip-flops and the third way as the slipper slides into the flip-flop and makes it into a sneaker. electro, might want to consider these as he likes to wear tube-socks in his flip-flops! ; /

Dot Matrix Watch
Sometimes you wanna be a little different, and who can blame you? Variety is the spice of life. So why not sport a cool LED watch, dot matrix style. Retro and sorta futuristic all in one.
The Dot Matrix Watch comes in a high quality leather wristband studded with tiny LEDs that reveal time and date with a touch of a button. Comes in two colors, tan with yellow LEDS or black with red LEDS.
I personally love the black/red version. Under $90 for a cool timepiece. I'm def. getting one.

Bodily or Horribly?
When Fatima Lopes showed her Fall/Winter collection 2006 at the Portugese Fashion Week this past weekend, these were some of the, well should I say stand out pieces in her collection.
Lopes is famous for her lustful cuts and shapes but this collection took her approach to the next level. The shock factor is high and it's meant for the runway so anything goes but would anyone wear something like this?
Together with these photos a major Swedish online newspaper asked the question. "Is this wearable?" The results were somewhat intriguing. Almost 37% said yes. Interesting indeed.

Sex Sells Clothes Too!
Sex can sell almost ANYTHING. I'm surprised I don't see iPod competitors taking advantage of that primal fact. Well leave it to one of the most sexually liberating countries in the world to take "sex marketing" to a whole-nother level.
I'm talking about sexpacking. A French clothing line with very smart and good looking pieces for men and women. It's their marketing that separates them. The entire catalogue is a porn scene with SURPRISE; porn actors sporting their frocks. Just rollover an item of interest - movie pauses and you get some info about it. Roll back out and the video starts up again.
And just to show how liberating the French are, the catalogue comes in gay, straight, and lesbian flavors. Unfortunately the rollovers don't work on everything. BELIEVE ME, I TRIED!
x-rated pictures after the jump so if you click to go on. IT'S ALL ON YOU!
