Kate Havnevik
I haven't heard an album this lyrically inspiring since Bjork's Medulla release. Kate Havnevik is no noob tho. She's worked with numerous other cutting edge artists - my favorite being Royksopp.
Her voice seems one part Imogen Heap, one part Bjork, and one part Dido. She has the ability to control her tones so precisely, it sounds almost as if a computer is generating them. Go deeper and you'll find lyrics so poetic, they seem almost pagan in their comprehension. It's her ability to meld the musicality and the lyrical content together that creates something so new.
She's currently trying to figure out distribution but iTunes is selling her work exclusively so PLEASE give it a listen.

Oh my, how I love Kate! Strangely I've only just discovered her and I LOVE HER VOICE, as well as her unique sounds...I don't think I've fallen in love with someone's art (music) since the discovery of Bjork. I now have two favorites.

I can't wait to see her perform Live in the end of October here in Boston!!! Her album "Melankton" has been on high rotation for months in my CD player (and on my Ipod)!
