Hernan Cattaneo - Sequential
If you're starved for some house that’s deep, rich and progressive check out this new release from Hernan Cattaneo on Renaissance. A 2-disc compilation packed with a faithful delivery of exciting house in its most modern and dynamic fashion.
Disc one starts out very upbeat with smooth house and solid bass lines and traces of trance. Overall a really well mixed and produced disc that stays fresh and progressive throughout.
I've always been a fan of Hernan's mixing and his sounds, but his earlier releases had segments where it sometimes got stale and boring. The beats were always good but sometimes they got too stretched out and the mixes felt flat.
This time around it’s different, and a definite uplift from earlier releases is maintained by tracks like nr. 9 "1983" from Chris Llopis and nr. 11"With my friends" from Way Out West. Those are both thrown into the middle of the disc and are really putting a spin on things. Hernan is with this release also dipping into the electronic genre, but still staying away from making it to minimalistic and dominating as many other house dj's have done lately.
Disc 2 is deep melodic tech house with influences from all over. In my opinion the best progressive house release so far for 2006.
Trust me, it’s worth every penny from your piggy bank.
