Revision Revolt

Re-Vision Competition

The challenge: how would you intelligently power a city block in a sustainable manner? Think big idea. Think small environmental impact. Think about ways to make a difference in how we fuel our future. Re:Volt is your chance to flip a switch on the status quo on dirty energy. To use the sun, wind or even people in an inventive way. To make a positive impact on our environment. For the next three months, we're looking for your revolutionary plan. Wherever you are, whatever you do, you could be the one to empower the next ideas about power. Imagination is a force so think about it and enter the competition. The deadline is April 1st.

The greatest way to provide unlimited energy is to rid the United States of its present oligarchy of industry moguls and corrupt politicians. When they are gone NASA and the NRA (Nuclear Regulatory Administration) will be gone. When such government hobbles and stumble blocks are gone, inventors will find a way to use spent nuclear fuel which remains thermally hot at over 400 degrees Farenheit for over 200 years. Bound in thermal glass and sealed in hermetic boilers, such energy systems could power an average family automobile for 200 years. Purchasers would buy new car bodies and refurbished chassis rather than manufacturing whole car chassis and bodies. This idea would also save on manufacturing costs and material resources. The threat of bomb making terrorists would be eliminated with simple geo-locator anti-tamper alarms. Anyone opening the sealed canister of fuel would bring immediate police investigation. Only at authorized facilities could any work be done on fuel canisters. Refueling would take place only at licensed facilities and by trained personnel.
This concept is a much better solution to the problem of what to do with spent reactor fuel. It is infinitely better to consume low level waste energy purposefully than burying it for the 200 years of active thermal energy and the 15000 years of radioactive decay. Spent fuel will still have to be disposed or used in an as yet unrealized way. Perhaps it will be re-refined and recycled to become the world's gift of eternal energy rather than a feared waste product. Without government meddling and fearmongering politicians, engineers will solve this problem. Vote Libertarian!
