Live From Coachella Björk

It's night time and it's 'effin HOT here at Coachella, mostly because of all the people breathing around me. UGH! But my night is made better by Björk who performed some of her oldies and lots of new material off her upcoming album Volta. One of my fav performances was her encore of a song called "Independence".

This is the Björk I fell in love with; the hardcore electronica bass thumping screaming girl. The crowd was nuts and if they weren't nuts to begin with, they were by the time she reached the climax of this song. "Independence" sounds like old school Sugarcubes mixed with the B-52's. This ladies and gentlemen is techno. No wait, scratch that. This is Björk techno!

UPDATE: Many more videos from last night's performance. Hit the jump!

That was such an amazing night. I didn't know you were there and I read this blog all the time. I tried taking pictures but everything came out dark. I'm so glad you have video. I can't stop listening to these songs.

Now that i got my flag, I need people who can build TANKS, AMMO, aircraft, spaceships... bombs..... to protect my independence from that asshole down the street who just raised his own flag......

Those screens behind her are of a new tabletop music making device I read about that has different little modules that act as oscillators, filters, envelopes, etc... and they interact with each other...kinda cool to see it in use live!

And regarding the comment: "I didn't get to go to the show!!! But this is better, great view and no crowds!" Believe me, it is not even close! Being at the show is one of the most wonderful experiences that one could ever have.
