Say No To Jeans & Dress Shoes
I will be a fashion snob right now and tell you guys, STOP WEARING DRESS SHOES WITH JEANS! Sure it's the easy way out. You want to stay comfortable and casual but dress it up a bit. This is just plain wrong and I want to beat down the man in Milan who came up with it. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
Everywhere I look I see this atrocity. Young guys, older guys, cute guys and guys on vacation. If you're going to wear nice shoes, WEAR IT WITH NICE PANTS. Enough said.
All guys who march to their own drum beat can ignore this post. I know you're wild and don't follow any rules. This is just an FYI for the guys that follow mainstream.
My rant is done.

So true, so true. What irks me is my husband thinks this is "dressy". He doesn't seem to understand there are a whole range of pants outside of the 3-4 categories he's familiar with; sweats, jeans, slacks and dress-pants.

Errr... okay. I'm doing this right now, so I'm guilty. It's casual Friday at my workplace, which means that jeans are allowed, but ratty tennis shoes aren't. So what are some shoes (for a reasonable price; I love your taste, but I work at a nonprofit!) that do go with jeans in an environment that isn't casual or clubby?

I rather wish I could do the opposite, and wear my much more comfortable boots with my "office pants," but that would be equally wrong.

Right on! and the fact that you chose square toe, wide soled shoes for your example only makes it scarier!
Maybe in a few years we'll be tired of being ironically 80's and start being ironically 90's Kenneth Cole, but until then.... no square toes with jeans, no dress shoes with jeans.

You bit#h that we wear the wrong shoes but what kind of shoes would u suggest to wear with jeans? Instead of complaining if you are such an expect, u would advise us what goes with jeans cause on casual days at work, u can't get away with sneakers or going to clubs.
