How Walkable Is It?
It's an inevitable question when coworkers and I try to decide where to go for lunch. "Is it within walking distance?" It's a subjective answer since "walkable" is defined differently by everybody. For me, more than 3 blocks is not walkable. For others, a mile is just fine.
That's why Walk Score is so intriguing. Using Google maps and its own patent pending algorithm, you can determine how walkable something is from your position using a scale of 0-100. The higher the number, the more walkable. I must be lazy because I won't accept anything under a score of 80.
