A Laptop With Holographic Tendencies

Vaio Zoom 01

This Sony Vaio Zoom notebook concept is hot! Made from glass and plastic, it employs holographic technology to display images and controls. When off, the screen is totally transparent and the keyboard is opaque. Turn it on and holograms come to life. The technologies involved are a ways off but here's hoping they come sooner than later.

Another pic after the jump.

It would be great if it existed today. By the time they come up with the technology, I'd hope that the time of the bulky rigid laptop will be over.

Though it'd be great to have the screen for my TV or photo frames etc.

This is a fantastic concept. I hope it doesn't take too terribly long to get there.

but wait.... what if I'm silently watching porno? Will people be able to see whats on the screen from the back?

thats a dealbreaker.

Why not project the screen-image onto any nearby surface - losing half the bulk and exponentially increasing flexibility? Partner it with a compact keyboard and it's a commuter's wet dream.

lol, isn't this just the thing where they take a picture of the wall and make it a desktop wallpaper?
