Happy Dead Bear Says Holiday Haiku Contest!
Hey peeps, this year Electro^Plankton is teaming up with Attus Apparel to give away one of their awesome polo tees. All you have to do is comment with your best Holiday Haiku. As a refresher, Haiku's follow a 5,7,5 syllable pattern.
Poems must be original and fall within the winter holiday theme. Contest runs thru the weekend and we'll pick a winner Monday. Make sure you leave an email addy. To get you started, I'll write the first one.
Christmas oh Christmas,
Just 11 days away,
Better start shopping!

You know, I honestly didn't intend to write you an entire weird balladic haiku cycle when I started out. Here it is regardless:
Snow falls from the sky.
My family waits for me
Traffic stays in place.
My car heating hums
What a gentle, quiet noise
Makes me daydream so.
It's frigid these days.
I'd rather be in Maui.
Land of pineapples.
My shopping's not done
So here I am in the snow.
To the mall I go.
Reasons are rare here -
Sometimes Christmas means nothing
Hollow like a drum.
Incessant music
Drives me a little batty.
Malls - please, please stop it.
Hunting for a gift
I spot it among the aisles
Rush in for the kill.
Celebrant hunter
Back to the car in triumph
Victory is sweet.
Light from a window
Shut the door and up the drive
Home again at last.
My family's here -
More important than the gifts
Love is the reason.
