A Growling Place

agrowlingplace.jpg

One girl's amazing adventure begins in her bedroom, on the night that the wind blows her bear away. In vivid dreamscapes, little Aril follows after her bear with the help of a sparrow, through the air and over land and water, until she finds herself in "a growling place," in the company of bears!

I know it's a children's book but you've got to read it. I swear it's more visceral and surreal than even the most complex art films. There's something sublime about innocence when it's laid out to bare. It reignites old imagination flames you thought were put out long ago.
