Pandas Are Okay
China's quakes this month have killed an estimated 80,000 people, destroyed nearly 1 million buildings and damaged many of the countries conservation sanctuaries, namely the Wolong Panda Preserve. All 86 pandas have been accounted for and have been relocated until a new facility is built.
It's always nice to read some good news come out of such tragedy. The panda is an international symbol for peace and planetary conservation. As the Chinese say, "lots of bad luck, one good luck, better than no luck at all." Hopefully this is a sign of continued good luck as recovery efforts continue.
