Knut's Foster Daddy Found Dead

Knut10B

Oh noes!! Knut's caretaker Thomas Dorflein was found dead in his apartment in Berlin. Authorities have ruled out foul play since Thomas (44) was very ill the past few weeks. The German zookeeper became an unlikely hero when he took care of Knut after his mother rejected him. Thomas fed and slept with Knut in his cage for months which is why he's the first polar bear to survive infancy in captivity in over 30 years. The two were forced to part last November because zoo officials feared Knut was now too big and dangerous.

Rumors are circulating of how heartbroken Thomas was after the separation which exaggerated his illness. Zoo officials also report Knut has been acting strange since Thomas' death.
