There's an interesting old Serbian custom where the elderly are ritualistically killed once they become a burden on their families. It's not considered murder but an honorary right - to sacrifice one's self for the family. This ritual is called "lapot" which is also the name of Sadak's Fall/Winter 2008/2009 collection.
The whole concept is based on tradition, ethnography, anthropology, history, and clothing. Sadak incorporated a variety of ideational elements from proceeding periods, together with the clothing features of the period when they were made and worn, often using the mystical and poetic stories.

Beautiful clothes! However, I'm a bit confused with the concept, namely 'lapot'!? Being part Serbian, my mom is from Serbia, and have been living in Serbia for a while, I have never heard of this custom, or anything similar to it in Serbian culture, history, folklore... ??? The word itself, 'lapot' as far as I know, does not mean anything in Serbian either...
