Ami Ami by Tokujin Yoshioka

kartell_tokujin.jpg This is why I love Tokujin. He's a minimalist. He works with familiar colors - white, black, clear but always manages to surprise me. Unlike his minimalist contemporaries, Tokujin is a texturalist. It may be white, black and clear but it's tactile. It's extreme minimalism without being  "starck" pun intended. Check out his Ami Ami line for Italian manufacture Kartell. I want it in the corner of my room, with a spotlight, backlit by an array of LEDs

He is an amazing designer. Sometimes his creations are a bit stark and scary but it never ceases to amaze me. They are like living breathing pieces of furniture art. I want to see more of this Ami Ami collection.
