Dancetastic!

I feel more upbeat and pop this year. I feel dancy and positive so the music I look for exudes that. Above are my top 9 most played LP's and EP's. Some are modern and some are throwbacks to the early 80's club scene - a time I remember vividly because my parents used to take me to seedy Asian dance clubs when I was barely 7 y.o.
Madonna hits the club scene hard with Celebration off her upcoming 3rd greatest hits album. FrankMusik is someone I've been raving about for almost a year. Saw him perform once and it was orgasmic. Even his sad songs make me feel euphoric. Zoot Woman caught me by surprise. They change sounds every album and their latest is dancetastic! My girl Imogen Heap finally releases her followup Ellipse. It's much more ambient but still vocally beautiful. Bat For Lashes is so underrated. Her song Daniel makes me think of wild dance parties in a heavily wooded area - an almost pagan experience. Annie is what I call "Stacey Q if she were to bring her music into modern context." What awesome driving music! If you love and miss Postal Service's Give Up!, then you'll love Owl City's Ocean Eyes. Adam's voice is heavily computerized but that doesn't stop the foot tapping. Calvin Harris, the dance/pop darling at the moment. He mixes dance, pop, electronica, and r&b into a sound that's smile inducing. Don't sleep on La Roux. The lead singer's voice is somewhere in between a man and woman. It's haunting and the production is so air tight. They remind me of Yaz.
